Rebuilding the Future: Meet ReUseBricks™

BOBA FETT

At Brick Blast, our motto is simple: KEEP ON PLAYING. But as every builder knows, a growing collection eventually leads to a big question. Whether you’ve got floor-to-ceiling shelves or you just discovered a "gray-era" goldmine in the attic, you’ve likely wondered: “What is all of this actually worth?”

That’s exactly why we are beyond thrilled to welcome ReUseBricks™ to the Santa Clara Convention Center on August 22nd! They aren’t just vendors; they are the industry’s premier experts in giving your collection the professional appraisal and certification it deserves.

Born from a Collector’s Nightmare

The mission of ReUseBricks™ was forged through a challenge every collector fears. Years ago, founder David experienced a devastating basement flood. In an instant, thousands of LEGO® sets—representing years of passion and thousands of dollars in value—were lost to the water.

When the time came to pick up the pieces, David hit a wall: his insurance company demanded a professional, certified appraisal to cover the loss. At the time, the industry simply didn’t have a specialist who understood the true market value of the brick.

Protecting Your Passion

David turned that heartbreak into a hero mission. He founded ReUseBricks™ to ensure that no other fan would ever have to face that kind of loss unprotected. Today, they stand as the gold standard for LEGO® appraisals, helping collectors document, value, and safeguard their investments.

Whether you need to update your homeowner's insurance or you're curious about the market value of your rare minifigures, the ReUseBricks team is coming to Brick Blast to educate, evaluate, and protect the community we love.

Sustainability Meets the Silver Age of LEGO®

The mission behind ReUseBricks is one we hold close to our hearts: ReBuild, ReImagine, ReDiscover. Born from a lifelong passion for the brick, they are dedicated to keeping classic sets and rare minifigures where they belong—on build tables and in the hands of collectors, not in landfills.

By focusing on the circular economy of play, they help ensure that LEGO remains the most sustainable toy on the planet. As the LEGO Group continues its push toward sustainable materials and circularity, partners like ReUseBricks are the boots-on-the-ground heroes making it happen for the fan community.

The Gold Standard: BrickCheck™ Grading

If you’ve ever bought a "Used - Like New" set only to find a cracked torso or a chewed-up brick, you know that condition is everything. The ReUseBricks team has revolutionized the resale world with their proprietary BrickCheck™ system.

This 10-point precision grading scale evaluates everything from surface scratches and "yellowing" to the crispness of instruction manuals. When you see a BrickCheck™ score, you know exactly what you’re getting—whether it’s a "Mint 10" crown jewel or a well-loved classic ready for a new generation.

Meet the Experts: David, Olivia, and Jared

What makes ReUseBricks truly special is the team behind the bricks:

  • David H. Bail (Founder): With over 40 years of collecting and financial expertise, David is currently pursuing accreditation with the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). He brings a level of professional valuation to LEGO that is usually reserved for fine art or classic cars!

  • Olivia Venderby (VP of Finance & Technology): Hailing from Denmark—the birthplace of the brick—Olivia uses her background in analytics and AI to keep the mission of sustainability moving forward.

  • Jared Rankin (VP of Operations): A lifelong enthusiast and systems expert, Jared ensures that every piece of a 5,000-piece collection is handled with the care it deserves.

Bring Your Collections to Brick Blast!
